About Us
The primary mission of the Bates Pickleball Club is to make a safe place for members of the Bates and Lewiston community to take part in casual level pickleball games where the goal is to promote mental and physical health and to learn the game of pickleball. Students, faculty, and staff will be able to participate with all levels of experience and connect amongst each other for fun and have an outlet to relieve stress. Our program supports the Bates College mission by fostering holistic student/faculty relationships through collaboration across all campus roles, establishing a sense of belonging through shared activities of learning pickleball. We will also be contributing to Campus Life's mission by creating an inclusive and beginner-friendly environment where members can have fun within the Lewiston-Bates community. Furthermore, our club plans to run tournaments throughout the semester with fundraisers to help with the Lewiston community, such as St. Mary's Hospital.
