About Us
The Bates College Investment Club manages a real $190,000 portfolio on behalf of the college, in support of student financial aid. Our members learn about asset management, markets, stocks, and bonds, as well as financial modeling. Weekly meetings are held to teach the basic investment analysis, learn about the financial markets, and vote on specific investment proposals. No prior knowledge or investment experience is required, and students from all majors are welcome. Joining the club is highly recommended for those who may be considering finance as a possible caree,r as well as those who want to learn about managing their own money.
