About Us
The purpose of Protect Our Breasts (POB) is to spread awareness regarding environmental exposures that humans encounter everyday that can lead to breast cancer. The Bates College POB Chapter seeks to continue the conversation about chemicals of concern found in food, skincare products, cleaning products, and clothing that are toxic to our body. We also aim to offer achievable solutions in avoiding these chemicals as best as possible by finding safer alternatives to everyday products. Furthermore, the Bates College POB Chapter aims to uplift and empower women to take responsibility for their health. At the core of our values, we strive to make this important research and information widely available and accessible to every person in the Bates community and the Lewiston-Auburn community. The dissemination of this information will help keep our community informed, healthy, educated, and empowered to take responsibility for our health at large.
