About Us
The Astronomy Club's mission is to provide opportunities for the Bates and Lewiston-Auburn communities to engage in astronomical activities like stargazing and telescope sessions. We aim to motivate a sense of wonder and curiosity, as well as a sense of belonging for everyone when looking up at the night sky. We will learn together and educate each other on topics spanning modern and indigenous astronomy and cosmologies. Participation in the Club and its activities is open to everyone regardless of their level of astronomical, physical, or mathematical knowledge.
